Psh, yeah right. Well, here it is as I see it:
Rex Goudie: After the Rain- Um...really good. Really. A little confusing, but this was my favourite by him, so I guess it's not that suprising. But he sings! There's no shouting! Wow.
Ashley Leitao: Colors of the Wind- It's COLOURS, folks. We're Canadian! Good vocal, but REALLY cheesy and lame and disney, but worse. Ew.
Amber Fleury:I Can't Make You Love Me- Good vocal, for sure. Boring, yes. But good for what it is.
Corpsey LeBland:Bring it on Home to Me: Better than anything she's done on the show, for sure- unfortunately, that doesn't say much. Lame background track, for sure. And I really have trouble listening to it when I know Suzie McNeil's version was miles ahead, and SHE still got bottom three. Yech. Boring, too. I saw a bus ad that said to vote for Casey, and I felt gross for a while until I went to HMV. Rest of story can be found in Josh's section.
Suzi Rawn:Fortunate Son: IT AIN'T ME. I like this a lot, despite the lameness of the background track, which really applies to all tracks. Good vocal, and not boring- the only non-ballad, really. YAY.
Melissa O'Neil:Concrete Angel- LAME AGAIN. But pretty much the least lame background on the CD. Great vocal, and GOSH this song is sad! I did enjoy it, and I hope she wins, so a girl can win and we can get back to gay next year.
Emily Vinette: Don't Cry Out Loud- Oh lordy, she is awful. Ewewew. Cheesy and weird and bad, and a gross song to boot! Skip.
Josh Palmer: Fooled Around and Fell in Love- The first one I heard, since I walked into HMV and it started to play! I naturally squee!d. Yeah, lame background, and weird backup singers, and his voice sounds very different than the other version he did, which will make the people who don't like his 'screeching' pleased. But I adored it, really. Despite these flaws, it was still miles ahead of everyone. It's very lovely to listen to.
Aaron Walpole:Drift Away- I kind of like him- but this was pretty boring as death. Even more so than Amber's, if that is possible. Good vocals, lame background, etc.
Daryl Brunt: When You Believe- he is SUCH A DIVA. SNORT. He even did the high part Mariah Carey does. HEE. It must have been hard to record, since it's a duet- but it was amusing enough and really not all that awful.
Rankings:
1)Josh Palmer
2)Rex Goudie 3)Daryl Brunt 4)Suzi Rawn
5)Melissa O'Neil
6)Ashley Leitao 7)Aaron Walpole 8)Amber Fleury
9)Corpsey 10)Emily Vinette.
I'm a little thankful they didn't have a CI2 CD, since the chessiness is kind of suffocating. But hey, I'd still buy a CI2 one and enjoy it more than this- even though this was satisfactory. |
